At Event Specialties, we know that before the first toast is made or the music starts, a tremendous amount of heart and hard work goes into the setup.

Our own story began much the same way. We started with a simple, singular idea: that our neighbors in Independence and across Southeast Kansas deserved a rental partner who cares as much about the success of the celebration as the host does.

We saw a need for a local company that combined high-end inventory with the kind of "roll-up-your-sleeves" service that only a locally owned business can provide.

What began as a modest venture—fueled by a few core items and a lot of determination—has steadily grown into a premier, full-service rental company.

But our growth wasn't just about filling a warehouse with tents, tables, and chairs.

We grew by listening. We grew by saying "yes" to our customers’ unique visions, whether it was a specific decor request for a dream wedding or a complex logistical setup for a community festival.
Working as a team, we’ve spent countless hours on-site, ensuring every tent pole is secure and every chair is perfectly aligned. This hands-on approach has allowed us to build something more valuable than an inventory list: a reputation for reliability.
